Earthlink and Windstream - One Year Later
It has been about a year since Windstream first announced that it would be merging with Earthlink. They are currently doing business under both names. Earthlink provides Internet for residential and businesses. Windstream also offers business and residential Internet, phone and television.
Windstream partners with the Dish Network to provide satellite TV to their customers.
Earthlink Internet was founded in 1994 to provide this new thing called the World Wide Web or Internet to the public. Windstream was founded in 2006 from the merger of Alltel and Valor Commumnications.
Eathlink was one of the pioneer Internet Service Providers in the early days of the World Wide Web focusing on dial up Internet. They still provide dial up service for those who require it but they have made the transition to DSL and Fiber Internet with their HyperLink High-Speed Internet with speeds of up to 75 Mbps. Earthlink also provides DSL and wireless Internet as well as web hosting.
Earthlink partners with other companies like Apple and Sony to provide extra services such as Apple TV, and Playstation Vue.
